It's Contest Season! #50PreciousWords: A NEW PERSPECTIVE

Hooray, Vivian Kirkfield's #50PreciousWords contest is BACK! This one represents a particular challenge, since entries are limited to 50 words or less--meaning you really have to hone that essential kidlit skill of making EVERY. WORD. COUNT.

For my entry this year, I was inspired by my own little snow bunnies, who have wonderful big ideas that often don't pan out as they had hoped. One of the things we work on in those situations is finding a NEW PERSPECTIVE--a new way to frame the situation so that it's not so bad after all.

Thanks for reading, and when you're done head on over to the contest page and read all of the other amazing super-short stories!

Ball 2...

Ball 3…

Almost there!

Now stack…

*topple… CRASH!*

Try again…

*flopple… SMASH!*

I.

GIVE.

UP!

Flop to ground.

Thrash around.

Scowl at toppled balls.

HEY, NOW!

I DID make a SNOWMAN!

He’s just making a flop-crash SNOW ANGEL…

Like flop-thrash ME!

I'll end with a little photo of me and my little guy making snow angels...not flop-thrash snow angels, but snow angles nonetheless. ;)
